  i cannot think of any worse place to have a convention than the pontiac silverdome.

  for years my family went to south bend, indiana to avoid it.

  then when south bend stopped having conventions (probably having something to do with the catholics not appreciating the brothers slamming the religion that financed, built, and hosts the lovely arena they were using), we tried madison, wisconsin for a year, before finally trudging back over to silverdome.

  hey all, .

  i can't sleep tonight for some reason, and so i took a whack at correcting some of the more glaring typos on the watchtower's site.

  (for instance, they keep misspelling "lie" as t-r-u-t-h. weird...) anyone wanna double-check me, here?

  Cleveland Stadium. Coming back to my seat from the restroom one day in my damn slick-soled, dressy sandals, I fell down on one of the ramps, got up, took two steps, and fell down again. I scraped up my knee and the front of my ankle (don't ask me how). It took months for my ankle to heal -- at one point, a piece of concrete worked its way out through the scab (nice job cleaning the wound, First Aid sister!).

  And then there were all those smelly high school gyms. And sitting in open stadiums getting sunburned and heatstroked. Ugh.

  Again everyone, like I stated before, if you want to know about Christianity, do not ask an athiest, ask a Bible Scholar, Christian minister, etc.

  How is that different from the JWs saying, "Don't talk to apostates,talk to us"?

  If I want to learn about Xtianity, I want to hear more than the obviously biased comments of a Xtian minister.

  JW's are really down on repetitive prayers. Each and every prayer is supposed to be original and from the heart. Also, they do their outreach work through their proselytizing.

  New Year's Eve Party

  i want to throw a nye party at my home.. what are the rules; time, attire, grownups, kids.

  Kids getting married at 16, 17,what's with that????

  Maybe they fell for that "better to marry than to burn" crap. I know my oldest brother had a friend or two who married young to get laid.

  Then there was the JW father who insisted that his daughter and a young man from the congregation simply had to marry because (gasp) they'd gone door to door together!

  . . .got left in the car a lot and dropped off at places till they came back.

  That's one of the reasons I don't understand why JWs use siblings as chaperones, especially grade-school-age kids.

  My daughter just ran out of contact solution HELP

  it is too late to run to the store for contact solution!

  any suggestions on how to save the contacts?

  I suspect that the problem you had with your batch of "field expedient" saline solution were caused by a spec of dirt that got into the mix. I know that dirt under a contact can hurt like Holy Blazes. I doubt that it was the iodine that caused your problem.

  No, it wasn't a speck of dirt. I know what that feels like. My chemist boyfriend, who was with me at the time, was convinced it was the iodized salt. But he was a jerk, so I'm happy to take your word for it.

  I have, however, successfully used tap water in a pinch (traveling, no solution, stores closed, no glasses or extra pair of contacts).

  i've come to love and cherish much of the wisdom that emanates from the dear ladies of this forum and believe watchtower boobed in making all women subservient to the men.
